Everybody wants to be different these days. Everybody seems to be stepping out of the box. Everyone is flocking that road not taken.
I think the problem is that everybody wants the exact same thing under the guise of wanting something different. Every girl claims she’s not like the other girls. Every guy says that he’s not like every other guy. And every person’s unique compass ultimately points north.
They all want someone unique. They all want someone who’ll see them in a different light. They all want to do what nobody else does. It is a more comprehensive version of the wanderlust fever I guess.
Nobody wants a 9-5, everyone one wants a ‘different’ job. We’re all struggling to be the ugly duckling in a flock of cygnets. It’s a paradox really. Because what really is unique anymore.
